who are we
Siamo un piccolo gruppo, nato nel 2001 dall'idea di realizzare trekking con i muli, poi successivamente anche con gli asini, nelle regioni dell'Appennino Centrale, in particolare in Valnerina e Monti Sibillini. Gruppo piuttosto eterogeneo, sia di Guide formate per questo lavoro, sia di abitanti originari dei luoghi, primo tra tutti il nostro amico mularo, Clemente, o le nostre cuoche, autentiche massaie, sempre attente alla sostanza, più che all'apparenza. Punto di forza è stato fin dall'inizio la passione per la montagna, e il credere fortemente che il valore è nascosto nella vita di tutti i giorni, come appunto è nella vita dura ma autentica di chi lavora a contatto con animali, boschi e natura. Nelle nostre proposte si privilegia l'esperienza autentica, non frenetica; nel viaggiare con i muli ci si immerge nel ritmo del passo degli animali, si dimentica il cellulare, si riscopre il gusto dell'autenticità e dello stare insieme.

Regolarmente versiamo un contributo alla Comunanza Agraria in cui siamo inseriti, partecipando e sponsorizzandone alcune iniziative. Supportiamo i progetti di conservazione del Parco dei Sibillini e, all'inizio della nostra iniziativa, siamo stati in forte collaborazione con il Progetto dell'Ecomuseo della Valnerina.

Collaboriamo attivamente con il Parco Nazionale dei Monti Sibillini. Siamo attenti alla scelta degli alimenti, privilegiando la filiera locale (a km 0,500 come l'abbiamo scherzosamente definita, essendo quasi impossibile il km zero, ma ci si impegna per andarci il più vicino possibile). Evitiamo prodotti di alcune note multinazionali, optando per scelte di consumo consapevole. Nei trekking in tenda evitiamo la plastica, priviliegiamo il lavabile, utilizziamo prodotti biologici anche per le pulizie. Evitiamo le interazioni negative con il territorio, informando i nostri clienti sulle conseguenze che un determinato agire, anche inconsapevole, può causare nel delicato equilibrio montano.

what you will do
Throughout the year we offer daily activities and educational visits (from 2 to 5 days) specially designed for the needs of school groups. The activities are immersed in nature and are based in the towns of Norcia and Preci. There are many innovative proposals available to the schools. Our belief is that with an intensive ‘living’ experience of the environment along with a strong emotional involvement we can overcome the barriers posed to fundamental cognitive learning and thanks to the clarity of that experience it can become part of the cultural and emotional thinking of the young.
Here are some of the suggested itineraries
• The Ex Railway Spoleto Norcia, on the path of the old train.
• The Val Castoriana, and visit to the museum of history of surgery with report on S. Eutizio preciani surgery.
• Plans of Castelluccio di Norcia, the herding and transhumance
• The Marmore Falls and Lake Piediluco, the water cycle and the anthropogenic use of this vital element.
• Norcia, the mill and the Marcite: the territory of Norcia and many mills-museums that offer the possibility to observe the traditional milling techniques
.. and some of the activities:
• Visit to the Farm, selected from those which express the typical local products: sheep and beef farms, craft dairies and beekeeping workshops.
• Hiking with donkeys and mules. Our feature is the use of donkeys as mediators between children and the rural world.
• Rafting on the river Corno. No risk to children by allowing you to dive inside the river routes.
• Orienteering. The ability to orient themselves in nature by observing the flight of birds, the stars, the sun and the wind direction.
• Archery. The practice of archery, develops coordination, the self-control and concentration.
• Adventure Camp. The boys are involved in a series of exercises that test their motor skills, coordination and concentration.
