Our camps in Subukia and Masai Mara have solar pannels for electricity. We procede to the sorting of rubbish. The camps have been approved by the Nema (Organism controling the impact on the environment.We have a Conservation House, in order to sensitize people to nature, animals and environment protection. detailed itinerary
Day 1: arrival in Nairobi in the morning. Transfer to Subukia (3-hour drive with view on the Longonot, Mount Kijabe, Lake Elementeita, Lake Naivasha, Menengai Crater...). Lunch and afternoon in Subukia: lake, forest, colobus, blue monkeys, numerous birds, visit of the farm with its domestic animals, visit of Mama Daktari’s house. Dinner and night at Subukia Bandas.

Day 2: all day in Subukia on full board, nature trail in the property (to learn about indigenous trees and their medicinal uses, bird-watching, monkeys observation...). Visit of Subukia village, the local market, the orphanage we are sponsoring. Possibility to go for horse-riding or mountain-biking (to be paid on the spot).

Day 3: all day in Subukia on full board, with trekking in the surroundings (views on Subukia Valley, stop in a local family to discover the Kenyan way of life in a rural area). Possibility to go for horse-riding or mountain-biking (to be paid on the spot).

Day 4: safari all day in the Nakuru National Park (1-hour drive): rhinos, Rotschild’s giraffes, zebras, gazelles, buffaloes, baboons, flamingos, lions, may be leopards...Picnic on the top of a hill with beautiful view on the lake. Dinner and night at Subukia Bandas.

Day 5: visit of a tea and coffee plantation (20 mn-drive), then excursion to the Menengai Crater (by car and by foot, 20 mn-drive). Lunch at Maili Saba with a beautiful view on the crater and a swimming-pool.Return to Subukia in the afternoon. Dinner and night at the bandas camp.

Day 6: visit of the Thompson Falls (30 mn-drive), with a walk at the bottom of the falls and of Nyahururu (small typical african town). Lunch at Nyahururu. View Point on Subukia Valley. Return in the afternoon. Dinner and night at Subukia Bandas.

Day 7: departure for Crater Lake Game Sanctuary (lake at the bottom of a crater) near Naivasha (2 and a half hour-drive), visit of the sanctuary, lunch on a flotting restaurant. Dinner and night at Bilashaka Lodge (flower farm and wildlife conservancy with herbivores).

Day 8: morning and lunch at Bilashaka, view on the lake, walk in the conservancy and visit of the farm. In the afternoon : visit of Elsamere Conservation Centre (former house of George and Joy Adamson, who dedicated their lives to wildlife, specially lions. Tea and cakes near the lake. Dinner and night at Bilashaka.

Day 9: departure for the Masai Mara after breakfast (5 and a half hour-drive). Stop in Narok for lunch, arrival at around 4.00 pm. First game drive in the reserve (lions, elephants, impalas, girafes, zebras, gazelles, wildbeests, cheetahs, may be leopards...). Dinner and night at Mara Kima Camp.

Day 10: safari all day in the Masai Mara reserve with picnic or lunch at the camp, dinner and night at Mara Kima Camp.

Day 11: departure for Nairobi (5 and a half hour-drive) after a last early morning game drive. Stop in Narok for lunch, arrival in Nairobi late afternoon. Dinner and night at Grace House Hotel.

Day 12: visit of the Sheldrick’s Elephant Orphanage and Giraffe Conservation Centre. Lunch at Utamaduni (restaurant with garden and hand crafts centre). Visit of Kazuri bead factory (hand made jewels and potteries using Mount Kenya soil). Transfer to the airport late afternoon.

A Subukia:
-Sports: horse trekking, paragliding (with self paragliding pilots), camel (an hour and a half from Subukia) bike.
-Nature trails on the property to the discovery of numerous trees with virtue 'medicines.
-Cultural visits in the village of Subukia in Nyahururu, visits to schools, orphanage, in the missions of the Franciscan (lower Subukia and Village of Mary), visit a farm for tea and coffee.
-Farm-to kids in contact with many domestic animals (horses, much, sheep, dogs, donkeys, birds ...)
-Observation of birds, monkeys (colobus, vervets ...)

THE CONSERVATION HOUSE
Situated a few metres away from the bandas, the Conservation House offers you a lot of informations about wildlife conservation and re-introduction projects in Kenya (among others: Sheldrick’s Elephant Orphanage, Giraffe Conservation Centre, Elsamere Conservation Centre, Colobus Trust, Kigio Wildlife Conservancy, The Ol Pejeta Chimpanzee Sanctuary), threatened or declining Kenyan species, as well as photos and documents about all the animals present at Muringa Farm.
You will also discover the different indigenous tree species (some of which are rare), that you might encounter along the “nature trail” we suggest you inside the property itself. Korir, our safari planner, will regularly be present at the Conservation House, to inform you about all the safaris and sports activities we offer, with more respect as possible for the environment, in search of nature, local populations and wildlife.

Accommodation in bandas (bungalows African style) to Subukia, permanent tents in our camp of the Masai Mara (Mara Camp Kima), Eco-Lodge Bilashaka the Crater Lake Game Sanctuary and Bilashaka, Grace House Hotel in Nairobi. Convivial atmosphere and friendly, natural and relaxed.

SUBUKIA BANDAS
Our 6 bandas (African bungalows) are situated inside the property itself (Muringa Farm, Mama Daktari's former house), in an undulating field, not far from the lake and on the edge of the forest. Each ofthem has a surface of 25 sq. m and offers you all the comfort you need, while respecting a typical African style.

They all have their own bathroom and toilets, and solar panels for the electricity. Three of them are equipped with two single beds and the three others with a double bed.There is the possibility of adding a little bed for a baby or a single bed for a child under 13 years old. Spring water directly from the tap.

MARA KIRA CAMP
Our safari camp, situated in the Masai Mara, and very close to the most central gate of the park (Talek Gate) offers you an accomodation in permanent tents of 20 sq. m nearly, with individual bathroom and toilets, and solar panels for the electricity.The bedding consists of two single beds. Each tent is also equipped with two tables and two canvas folding seats.

After the safaris, you will be able to relax in the pleasant and ventilated central hut of the camp, or on the terrace of your tent. The camp is situated in open nature, and you will appreciate its calm and its nice and friendly atmosphere (6 tents only).

Tariff 2010 including transfers, safaris, guide, on full board: 1740 euros / person (adult). This rate might be modified if the park fees and fuel are increasing during the year.

Excluded: flight, visa, insurance, drinks, tips, extras, dinner on day 12.

Vehicle for safaris: minibus, Land Rover or Land Cruiser 5 seats, converted for safaris.
English speaking guide specialised in african flora and fauna.
Vehicle for the transfers: Toyota corolla or similar.
