who are we
The Aquila Expedizione Responsible Tour and Safaris (AQERTOS) is a non profit company with a corporate personality to operate responsible tour and safaris in all top destinations in Tanzania, mainland and island, including mountain trekking in respect to sector norms and standards of domestic and international policy and guides.
Travellers are well detailed on their important role to the host country or community they visit, in a manner that visitors have to exchange knowledge and perspectives by sharing ideas in social and economic including poverty, wealth and wonderful appreciation of Tanzanian beautiful natural enviroment and cultural heritage which belong to all people of the world. The whole team has great experience and great knowledge of local flora and fauna.
social responsability
Many of our group and tailored intineraries take people to the province, so tourist expenditure benefits broader geographic areas, rather than cities alone.
environmental responsibility
Please, be friendly with forest. Don't purchase hard wood furniture manufactured from illegally felled lumber or made from lumber of unknown origin. Hard wood deforestation has scarred vast tracts of Tanzania in recent decades and has caused social, economic and enviromental consequences for local populations and the accelleration of global warming.
Avoid plastic materials and keep your use of plastic bag and packaging to a minimum.
Tanzania does not have the facilities or the capacity to engage in mass recycling, so this means that plastic waste is usually buried. Plastic bag can take hundreds of years to break down. Considering shopping with a cotton carry bag, or re-use a plastic bag.
Do not buy sea shells, coral or animal parts (rinho and elephant tusks/or lion, leopard skin/claws) wich are likely to be obtained illegaly or wich are sold illegaly.
economical responsability
Whenever possible we shop good and crafts in support community groups such as women's projects, disabled groups or similar. Ask your tour leader or local guide to tell you where these places can be found.
We organize and raise funds for financing projects that will improve enviroment in small artisan gold and diamond mining areas in Bumbiti Shinyanga to ensure self sufficiency and quality of life for individuals and communities of the region.

Review by camilla
what was the most memorable part of this holiday?
you feel that this holiday has brought benefits to the local population and / or has minimized the impact to the environment?
What suggestions would you give to other travelers who want to book this holiday?
What suggestions would you give to the organizers?
Non saprei, ci siamo trovati bene.
which score would you give to this holiday?
Il massimo per i luoghi e per la gente, un po' meno per le comodità. Ma un safari comodo sarebbe finto! Bellissima. Lo rifarei domani.
what you will do
The classic safari or game drive is conducted by day in vans or 4x4 off road. This five-day safari will visit the Lake Manyara National Park where on the lake, live many species of animals. The Great Serengeti National Park and the Ngorongoro Crater, in the most spectacular scenery in the world.
detailed itinerary
DAY 1
Leave Arusha at 09.00 am, drive for about 2 hours to Lake Manyara National Park, famous for its green scenery, varied bird life, tree-climbing lions, hippos and baboons. Dinner and overnight will take place on top of the Great Rift Valley, overlooking Lake Manyara.
DAY 2
Early breakfast at 6.00 am. Game drive en route to Serengeti National Park. Serengeti is the largest and most famous park in Tanzania, known worldwide for its endless plains, wildebeest-migration, herds of lions and other predators like hyenas, cheetahs and leopards. Crocodiles can be found in the Grumeti River, as well as hippos, giraffes, antelopes, and gazelles. Dinner and overnight in the heart of Serengeti !
DAY 3
Tour the northern part of Serengeti. A full day of game drive until sunset, then dinner and overnight in the Lobo area. (or Seronera)
DAY 4
Another game drive in Serengeti. In the afternoon you drive en route (optional stopover at Olduvai) to the rim of Ngorongoro Crater for dinner and overnight with an excellent view of the crater floor! Please note that Simba Camp is the only common campsite in the area, and that the facilities are so-so.....We recommend a night in one of the lodges!
DAY 5
A full day in the Ngorongoro Crater. There is a very high possibility of spotting the big 5 in one day: lion, rhino, elephant, buffalo and leopard. Lunch will take place at the picnic site at the crater floor. In the afternoon, drive back to Arusha.
End of tour!

detailed prices
From 150-170 USD per day per person (depending on the number of people)
The price includes:
Tent, safari, entrance to parks, bottled water (1.5 liters per person per day).
If you prefer to sleep in the lodge the price varies depending on the structure chosen.
The majority of these vehicles are 4WD Toyota Land cruisers and Land rovers which have been specially modified to endure the rigors of unpaved roads, all the while ensuring ample leg room, easy wildlife viewing (large windows) and an all round comfortable experience. Each vehicle has either a pop-up or flip-flop roof top to ensure unimpeded game viewing; a cool box, a pair of binoculars (although we do recommend clients bring their own), as well as a set of referral books (mammals, birds, plants) which clients are welcome to use.
For added convenience and security whilst on safari, all of our vehicles are equipped with HF Radios. Most of the extended land rovers and land cruisers you will see around you on safari in Northern Tanzania. We are therefore proud to be the trend-setters that other tour operators have seen fit to try & emulate. We do have a handful of other vehicles we use specifically for the transportation for small & big groups to the border points, Mt. Kilimanjaro or Kilimanjaro International Airport.
